All about CERT

Pend Oreille Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members assist during a  disaster - before first responders arrive. We may be called upon to help with shelters, traffic control and other task as needed, freeing up deputies and emergency workers to deal with critical needs.

Pend Oreille Community Emergency Response Teams prepares citizens before a disaster by equipping them with basic skills and knowledge to survive a disaster.

Prepare Your Neighborhood

• Neighborhoods that are prepared for emergencies and disaster save lives, reduce the severity of injuries and trauma and limit property damage. 

• Being able to contribute as individuals, and working as neighborhood teams will develop stronger, safer communities.

• Disasters can strike anywhere and at anytime. Traditional 911 and first responders such as fire, police, and emergency medical services will be overwhelmed and unable to immediately assist individuals.
