I volunteered to be President and I thank you for the privilage to serve in this capacity. I have served on a number of non-profit boards in our community, including the Pend Oreille Valley Habitat for Humanity, the International Selkirk Loop, and the Pend Oreille County Economic Development Council. I have a passion for CERT and the people of Pend Oreille County and believe POCERT can play a vital role in our County's Emergency Response effort.
I am Dale Weathers the elected VP. I am a well seasoned multi-decade volunteer with several organizations. I work best supporting those I serve. Keeping thing running smoothly is my desire and I strive be alert to opportunities to accomplish this.
I am your Secretary, Jen Ekizian. I’m currently spending my 9-5s as an Emergency Preparedness Training & Exercise Coordinator and MRC Volunteer Coordinator for Panhandle Health District. In my spare time I am a new recruit into SPOFR as an EMT. I’m bringing to Newport CERT team, 4 years experience in 911 & Fire Dispatch. prior experience as a CERT educator for both adults and teens and a Ham radio Extra. I am so passionate and VERY EXPRESSIVE about emergency response, preparedness and resiliency through community engagement, education and training. I am honored to be a part of the inception of Newport CERT Team!!
I am your treasurer, Ernie Hood. I am a retiree having worked in large, multinational high-tech companies and smaller manufacturing businesses where I cut my teeth on basic accounting principles, financial management, and budgeting. I am a person who is detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills. I whole-heartedly support the mission of CERT to empower individuals and communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters by providing training, resources, and support!
